MacHeads star Taylor Barcroft on the iPhone 5, iOS 6, and saving serious moolah on your iPhone plan via a simple still legal hack.

Listen Now to  Dr. Future and Taylor Barcroft on the Iphone 5, iOS6, etc.

Living the coveted  ‘life is a beach’ lifestyle in Santa Cruz, California, ‘MacHeads the Movie’ featured star Taylor Barcroft has figured out many things, including how to save big money on your iPhone bills, when equipped with a little still legal ‘hacking’ knowledge..

He’s also as ferocious as ever on Apple, and will bring us fresh perspectives on such burning issues as the maps debacle,  Best Buy’s preordering disaster, the dock change, the best online review of iPhone 5 ever, plus, kewl case choices, and not be underappreciated, Taylor and Dr. Future’s invaluable viewpoints on what’s hot and what’s not with the latest Apple tech…but if that isn’t enough for you, Mrs. Future enters the fray about half an hour into the conversation, adding her lucidity to the equation..

Dr. Future News - The Future of Work, Tweeting Earthquakes, Superorganism, 3D Printer Games, Driverless California

Listen now to Dr. Future News 9.11.12

Aah, back from Burning Man with minds inspired,  and time to share with you some exciting new stories.

“The Future of Work” is a deep topic, which we begin to explore with this show; hopefully we will spark a few neurons in you on this most important subject.  A new use for Twitter has surfaced - tracking earthquakes as they occur in realtime!  Seems like they can do this faster than the official USGS sensors…go figure.

Hmmm, lesseee, human powered sensors that let us know about Earth changes now..This brings up the context of humanity reorganizing itself via the global brain forming, thanks to the internet, and beyond the brain, the species super organism.

There is a specific pattern being uncovered at the leading edges of biological science that reveals the steps by which fragmented pieces of cosmic material coalesce into single cells, which evolve into unified organisms with highly differentiated and synergistic subsystems, vital to the well-being of the whole. The next natural step in the development of humanity is to become an increasingly cooperative and dynamically integrated superorganism.

This is a deep topic, which we touch upon in this show, and would love your input on this process.. For a little background on this theory, check out: http://www.greattransitionstories.org/wiki/Story:Superorganism

Meanwhile, 3D printers are making headway in the game development world, especially board games, and driverless cars are on a fast track now in California, as well as Nevada.

Bringing you the Best Burn Ever!

In case you missed this pyrotechnic master performance live last Saturday eve, we bring it to you now, thanks to a dedicated team of media pros at Burning Man.  Heading our team is a pioneer of streaming video, John Graham, Bill Hanson, senior Apple education executive, his assistant Francis (Bit Wrangler), Sun Lundell (Mrs. Future) on commentary, and myself, operating the mobile camera and commentary. You will also hear the voice of Burning Man radio personalities in this video.

The Burn itself featured a pryotechnic display unlike anything you have ever seen..there were so many fireworks at the start that it was like a 4th of July Grand Finale for 10 minutes! Then the giant gas explosion enveloping the entire man took everyone by surprise.  And yet…the Man still did not fall!  How did he finally meet his demise?  You’ll have to watch..

Bringing you this video was not easy, given the extreme remote location of the Black Rock Desert in Nevada, the ongoing intense dust storms, and the environment’s effects on our gear.  We did, however, get to play with some of the coolest gear around, such as TeraDek Brik, allowing us to digitally wirelessly send pristine HD images from portable cameras out in the desert to your laptops and tablets at home.

Enjoy the Burn and the preshow, which features some amazing firedancing!

The Futures are at Burning Man

Hi Folks, we are heading out to the playa and plan on sending you regular updates, bandwidth permitting. To get you in the mood for this radically fun event, we have prepared a couple of video channels of our favorite Burning Man experiences to share.

Our Dr. Future’s Burning Man Picks  YouTube Channel features our Tales from the Playa series, my favorite being Shimmering Wolf’s investigation of a playa survival purse, found on the playa.  Catching synchronicities on camera is another favorite of ours, and some of our best examples of this are on Dr. Future’s Amazing Burning Man Flicks on Vimeo.  “TheYear the Man Burned Twice” is a favorite here, where the Man was lit on a Monday night during a total lunar eclipse by a rogue agent…though the Double Rainbow vid exhibits quite magical timing as well.

You can tune in live to Black Rock City and the Man right now, thanks to John Graham and the webcast team currently in the desert.  Check out the live feed, with Burning Man Radio right here..

And oh yes, there have been some very interesting developments in the world of late.  Please check out our links page for more evolutionary info.  We’ll most likely be discussing some of these stories upon our return from the desert.
